There are settings in the cadxhtmlui.ini located in WT_HOME\codebase\com\ptc\windchill\cadx\cfg\default that control this behavior. These settings are site specific. You can drop the extension from either the name or number for the Part or both the Part and the CAD Document. The file entries are as follows: UploadDropNameFileExtension= If set to "true" the extension on the Pro/E File Name will not appear in the CAD Doc Name field after the first UPLOAD. For example: A Pro/E file "12345.prt" becomes CAD Doc Named "12345". The default value is "true". UploadDropNumberFileExtension= If set to "true" the extension on the Pro/E File Name will not appear in the CAD Doc Number field after the first UPLOAD. For example: A Pro/E file "12345.prt" becomes CAD Doc Number "12345". The default value is "false". AutoAssociateDropNameFileExtension= If set to "true" any extension in the CAD Document Name field will not appear in the WTPart Name field if a WTPart is autocreated from the CAD Doc. For example: A CAD Doc Named "12345.prt" creates a WTPart Named "12345". The default value is "false". AutoAssociateDropNumberFileExtension= If set to "true" any extension in the CAD Document Number field will not appear in the WTPart Number field if a WTPart is autocreated from the CAD Doc. For example: A CAD Doc Number "12345.prt" creates a WTPart Number "12345". The default value is "false". The settings related to numbering have no effect if Auto Numbering is turned on within PDMLink. Back To Top Announcements PTC Tips & Techniques Webcasts: Work Smarter. Not Harder.
